The organic farming industry has become a $55 billion industry in the U.S. and there are many new market opportunities in organic agriculture. If you are interested in transitioning to organic farming or are already in the transition phase, this event is for you!
This field day will be hosted at Triple S Farm - located north of the small community of Hydro, OK. Growing both organic and conventional crops, they view their products as an extenstion of their values and ethics. Crops include wheat, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, and more. As a third generation family farm they seek to combine available technology with on farm innovation to be a low cost and profitable producer.
The field day will include field walks, sessions on organic agronomy, soil health and soil testing, strategic decision making focusing on business plans, record keeping, marketing, conservation planning and funding opportunities for organic, as well as an opportunity to have lunch with mentors.
This event is free, but please only register if you plan to attend. If you register and do not attend, others may miss the opportunity to participate due to limited capacity.
