Join Acres U.S.A., the Northern Plains Sustainable Agriculture Society (NPSAS), and FARRMS for a full day of practical education at Menoken Farm, a nationally recognized demonstration farm dedicated to soil health, conservation and regenerative agriculture.
This free field day will combine hands-on farm tours, farmer-to-farmer learning, and discussions with organizations supporting organic agriculture across the Northern Plains. You'll explore both vegetable and row crop production systems, hear directly from certified organic farmers, and discover practical strategies for improving soil health, integrating livestock, building resilient farming systems and navigating the organic transition.
Whether you're currently certified organic, considering the transition, or simply looking for practical soil health solutions, you'll leave with ideas you can apply on your own farm.
Throughout the day, you'll explore the principles and practices that build long-term soil function, improve water infiltration, increase biological activity and support productive farming systems.
Discover how integrating livestock into cropping systems can improve nutrient cycling, stimulate biological activity and strengthen overall farm resilience. We will tour Menoken Farm's row crop fields to see practical examples of livestock integration.
See how cover crops fit into real-world cropping systems and the role they play in improving soil health, suppressing weeds, reducing erosion and cycling nutrients.
Meet representatives from organizations including North Dakota SARE, North Dakota Farm to School, Burleigh County Extension, NDAREC, NRCS, and Burleigh County Soil Conservation District. Take advantage of opportunities to ask questions and build relationships!

Located just east of Bismarck, Menoken Farm is a 150-acre conservation demonstration farm dedicated to advancing soil health. Since 2009, the farm has showcased practical regenerative practices including cover crops, plant diversity, minimal soil disturbance and livestock integration to help farmers build healthier, more resilient farming systems.
