Roy Thompson farmed for 46 years, largely following the same practices used by the three generations before him, but remained open-minded when his son returned with an interest in pursuing soil health. Growing up, Mike never planned to farm and spent 18 years away after high school before returning to the family operation. That time away helped break the cycle. By combining his father’s experience and wisdom with his own curiosity, hunger to learn, and new knowledge, they formed a powerful partnership that helped drive their success in regenerating the health of their soil.
